Our Programs & Services

Youth Leadership

We believe that investing in young people today creates a stronger community tomorrow. Each year, we award (3) $1,500 scholarships to State College Area High School seniors who demonstrate academic achievement, leadership potential, and financial need. If you’re a State High senior interested in applying, reach out to your school’s Guidance Office to get started.

Vision & Health

We want everyone to see a better tomorrow. That’s why we provide thousands of dollars in free eye exams and eyewear to community members who have documented vision needs but lack the financial means to get care. We also support hearing health programs, efforts to prevent and control diabetes and eyeglass recycling through collection sites across the region. If you or someone you know needs help with eye care costs, please reach out — we’re here to help.

Need help with vision or hearing care? Complete our online application below. Our team reviews every request and will follow up with you directly.

Hunger Relief

In a place as vibrant as State College, it can be easy to overlook that hunger is a real challenge for many of our neighbors. We’ve partnered with the Community Help Centre to provide grocery cards to individuals and families facing temporary food emergencies. We also take on hands-on community service projects and advocate for a healthier environment — because caring for our community means caring for the place we all call home.

If you need emergency food assistance, contact Community Help Centre at 814-237-5855 or toll-free at 800-494-2500, available 24 hours a day.

Community Service & Environment
